Camon Japanese Restaurant in Columbia

Finally tried this place after years of hearing about it. Great authentic atmosphere. Service was excellent. Unlike a lot of places, the waitress knew the menu well and had perfect recommendations. And the food was delicious.

I read a lot of reviews about long wait times. I did not experience this at my dinner. It is not fast food so understandably it is not out in a jiffy but by no means did I wait an unreasonable amount of time.I was very pleased with the taste of the fish in my Sashimi Combination Dinner. The Salmon with a thin slice of lemon is my new favorite! The Japanese rice was perfectly executed. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The best sushi in the city period.

This is the most authentic Japanese restaurant I have found in Columbia. All the food is great, and always comes out perfect! The only thing that prevents me from giving Camon five stars is the wait. I have been there a total of eight times and every time I have been I usually wait around an hour and thirty minutes for my sushi.

Just because the place around it - is deserted! However when you get inside, lots of people! And the food is really tasty. Had Camon sushi roll and really enjoyed it.

Best sushi and authentic Japanese food in the area. You'd be hard pressed to find better in Okinawa or Sapporo. I personally suggest the Eel and softshell crab rolls. It was amazing! Just be careful of "the sake" it will sneak up on you and bam!!

Lived in Japan for seven years and truly enjoyed sushi there. Since coming back to the states, I've found very few places that live up to the quality in Japan. This place is one of them. Highly recommend it if you want legit sushi in the U.S.

At the first moment you enter that place team give you a pleasant feeling. Very warm hosts, it is a kind place to to go out with friends or with your date. Excellent cooking, specialist chef, good price and attentive service. Highly recommended.

It's really hard to go to any other restaurants in town because when I'm eating, I just think, "Man, I could be eating something at Camon right now." 10/10 best Japanese food around, especially the sushi and curry. The service is excellent, staff is friendly, and - I cannot emphasize this enough - the food is incredible. I've had sushi around the world, including several restaurants in Japan, and Camon's is still one of my top favorites!

So incredibly authentic! From atmosphere to the delicious flavors being sent from the sushi chef! Would highly recommend and I will revisit next time I'm in Columbia!

Delicious sushi! Great sushi bar and people.

The people are very nice but when it comes to sushi, the most important elements are quality of ingredients and creativity. The fish quality was poor. Last day sale at a local grocery store poor. Not close to "sushi" grade. At least the night I went. Tuna should be deep red, not pink grey. Even lettuce for the salad was browning. Then, for creativity the rolls were about as creative as you would find at the Sam's clubs that serve sushi, except that is usually better quality fish than I experienced. Unfortunately for my experience, this is not an exaggeration. Hopefully for them, I was just there on a bad night.

The sushi here is pretty good except they need to go light on wasabi!

Very good authentic Japanese dishes, and excellent service. Friendly servers and the chef gave us a free sushi roll. Reasonably priced and large portions. We would definitely go back again!

BEST sushi place in Columbia. I am obsessed with the Camon 3 roll. I recommend getting a reservation as it is a small location and gets packed quickly. Also last time I went they do a student discount with an ID, I believe it is either 10% or 20%. I wish I could eat here every day!

The food was fantastic! I got Japanese curry, which I had never tried before, and it was delicious. Everything tasted very high quality and that it was made with care and precision. The restaurant was very busy, and staff were giving people a 1 hour wait (goes to show how many people want to eat here!). Even though there was so much going on, our service was stellar, and food came out at a great time! I can’t wait to go back.

Listen, my friend used to live in Japan and he loved this place! The chef hooked us up with a roll before our food came out, you just don't get that everywhere. The warm sake was delicious as well as the dragon roll. Go, you won't regret it!

Sushi was excellent and the serving sizes were just right not too big and not especially small. I absolutely loved the egg roll it was big and delicious and the sauce on the side was absolutely delicious!! Highly recommended this semi secluded spot to anyone looking to go downtown for some sushi.
